What is innate intelligence?
Innate intelligence (IA) is the body’s inborn intelligence, and the underlying premise of kinesiology is the belief that the body’s innate intelligence can be contacted and ‘spoken to’ (via muscle testing) and it helps the body heal itself.
The idea that the body can heal itself might be new to some people, and to others it may seem too far-fetched. But is it?
The body is constantly healing itself
Most of us are completely unaware that our body is constantly re-developing with old cells dying off and new ones being formed. Our bodies continuously grow hair and nails, generate red and white blood cells, and some organs can even grow back after being dissected (for eg. the liver). The human body is a well oiled machine that knows what it needs to do to keep itself going, most of the time.
There must be something to this self healing ability – just look at all the research being undertaken with stem cells. Stem cells are a class of undifferentiated cell that is able to differentiate into specfic cell types (such as skin, muscle, bone, etc.). Scientists have found stem cells in adults, in areas such as the brain, bone marrow, blood, blood vessels, skeletal muscles, skin, and the liver. These cells remain in a non-dividing state for years until activated by disease or tissue injury. How does the body know when to activate these cells, and which type of cell to differentiate into? Innate intelligence.
So let’s say you broke a bone. Once the doctor has set the bone and put a cast on it, has it been healed? No, your body needs time to create new bone until it is completely healed. You may ask, well if I was not able to get a cast, would the bone heal itself? Yes it probable would, but it would probably take longer and the bone might not heal to the best possible alignment.
The link between IA and kinesiology
Sometimes our innate intelligence takes a long time to deal with things in your body, or not as well as it should. By using muscle testing, a kinesiologist will find what things (be they emotional, physical, nutritional) are preventing the body from healing itself. Kinesiologists are the trouble shooting manuals of your body ‘machine’. Your machine could be flashing with all sorts of warning signs (body aches and pain, tiredness, mood swings, illnesses) and they speak to your body to find out what is going on, and what you can do to make it work better and/or heal itself.
So, I’ve let the cat out of the bag. As a kinesiologist, I don’t ‘cure’ anyone! What I do is communicate with your body, via muscle testing, to find out what things are stopping you from healing yourself, and pass this information on to you so you can make the necessary changes to improve in health and wellbeing.
